The official grid from the Brazilian Ministry of Exterior Relations can be found here.

The conference venue, the Windsor Convention Center & Hotels, is located 28.5 km (18 mi.) from Tom Jobim International Airport (GIG) and 25.2 km (16 mi) from Santos Dumont Airport (SDU). Traffic in Rio can be heavy, so pending your arrival or departure times you expect an approximately one-hour commute to/from either airport.

You may book your airport transportation through Blumar Congress & Events, the Official Travel Agency of the ISHRS 2026 World Congress: https://eventos.blumar.com.br/ishrs/transfer

Taxis are available at the airport but be sure to get your taxi from the airport’s official taxi counter/booth to avoid complications. It is best to use authorized official yellow taxis found immediately outside the terminal arrivals area to avoid unlicensed drivers. Radio Taxi is also known to be reputable. Most taxis accept the payment by credit card, but it’s best to ask the driver before you get in. Drivers might only speak Portuguese so have your hotel address written down or visible on your phone, ready to show the driver. Always make sure that the meter is running before starting the journey.

Uber is available in Rio de Janeiro.

If you are driving to the meeting, hotel parking is available for an additional fee and upon availability.

Rio de Janeiro is a vibrant, welcoming city, and we hope you’ll take time to enjoy it during your stay. As in many large cities around the world, petty theft can occur, particularly in crowded areas, so a few simple precautions will help keep your visit trouble-free.

  • Keep phones, cameras, and jewelry out of sight when walking in busy areas. Phone theft is common in Rio, do not use your phone when out and about. Step inside a store or restaurant if you need to use it.
  • Order your taxi or rideshare from INSIDE of restaurants, before you step onto the street to wait.
  • Do not wear your congress badge outside of the hotel, making it obvious that you are a tourist.
  • Carry only what you need for the day. Leave your passport and extra cash in your hotel safe. A photocopy or digital copy of your passport is usually sufficient.
  • Use licensed taxis or ride-sharing apps, especially in the evening.
  • Stay in well-lit, well-populated areas after dark, and avoid walking alone in unfamiliar neighborhoods.
  • At the beach, don’t leave belongings unattended.
  • Ask the hotel staff if you’re unsure about a particular area.

A little awareness goes a long way. With sensible precautions, we’re confident you’ll have a safe and memorable time in Rio.

The official language of the meeting is English. Live translation will be provided via AI technology. Individuals must use their own personal devices to access translation services. Please bring headphones if you plan to use live audio translation.

Please be sure to eat breakfast on your own each day, prior to the start of the meeting. Breakfast will not be served on the meeting floor. For those guests who booked their room in the ISHRS block, breakfast is included in the hotel guest room rate.

Wifi is available in the meeting space.
