Abstract Review Process Has Been Completed

As we move further into the preparatory phase for the upcoming ISHRS World Congress in Rio de Janeiro, the work behind the scenes has become increasingly active and substantial. This year, we received a high level of interest in the scientific program, with a total of 195 abstract submissions. The abstract review and evaluation process has now been completed, and we are currently working on the initial schedule, which is one of the most detailed and labor-intensive steps in preparing the Congress.

As Chair, I have placed great importance on the recommendations of the Scientific Committee when making decisions related to abstract submissions and program structure. I deeply appreciate the effort, time, and expertise contributed by everyone involved in this process, and I am very grateful for the commitment of our colleagues who are helping shape the upcoming meeting.

This year, we are also developing several newer formats and activities with clear goals in mind: to keep the Congress as evidence-based as possible, to encourage meaningful face-to-face communication, and to help foster stronger professional relationships within our field, particularly for newer members of the society.

In parallel, we are also working on a new approach to promoting our society through social media, and I believe it will be both creative and impactful.

There is still much work ahead, but the process is moving forward with great energy and purpose. I look forward to sharing additional updates as we continue preparing for what we hope will be an outstanding Congress in Rio.

All the best,
Maxim Chumak, MD, FISHRS
ABHRS Diplomate
Program Chair
